THE EXPERIENCE

The Amazon Buenavista Lodge offers cozy and casual-luxury boutique accommodation in the northern and high Amazon Region of Peru. Our Lodge is overlooking the town of Tarapoto, set only 10-minutes from the city’s main square and 15-minutes from the spectacular Regional Conservation Area Cordillera Escalera.

Our private five spacious and beautiful decorated boutique style rooms and our junior-suite are equipped with air-conditioning, mini-bar, Wi-Fi internet and TV. Each room has large windows, great vistas and expansive marble bathrooms with hot showers. Enjoy our rich Buenavista breakfasts (eggs, fruits, yogurt, ham, chees, traditional food, fresh baked breads and much more) at our second floor terrace where the scenery is amazing.

Children are welcome, but must be 10 years of age or older accompanied by their parents. A 25% children discount applies (10-14 years). Maximum one child per room. Our programs include accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner plus daily guided excursions.

LOCATION

Cordillera Escalera is a protected area in the San Martín and Amazon Region of northeastern Peru, situated on the eastern edge of the Andes. Established in 2005, it encompasses 1,500.00 square- kilometres of mountainous cloud and montane forest at the interface between the Andean highlands and lowland Amazonia. This region has long been inhabited by Indigenous Amazonian peoples, who have developed deep cultural, spiritual, and economic ties to its forest landscape. The Kichwa-Lamista people of San Martín are among these groups, and have maintained traditions of healing, farming, fishing, and hunting within the forest across generations. The region is a transitional zone between the Andean highlands and lowland Amazonia, at approximately 1,200 metres above sea level. This area has historically served as a pathway connecting the two ecosystems. Tarapoto town is also known for its nightlife, dance clubs, restaurants and bars.
